Chief Deputy Dave Thurman
Chief Deputy Dave Thurman started working at the Randall County Sheriff’s in 1981 and has served in many capacities prior to being promoted to Chief Deputy in 2001. Chief Thurman initially worked in the jail division, and then served as a patrol deputy, patrol sergeant, homicide investigator with the Potter/Randall Special Crimes Unit and as a property crimes investigator.

Chief Thurman holds a Master Peace Officer’s License and was awarded the Melvin Drum Award in 2005 from the Texas Chief Deputies Association. In 2012, Chief Thurman served as president of the Texas Chief Deputies Association and as president of the Panhandle Peace Officers Association. He currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the Panhandle Regional Emergency Management Advisory Committee (PREMAC).

Chief Thurman is married with two children.
